Product Detail

Appearance: White or off-white fibrous or granular powder
Stability: The solid is flammable and incompatible with strong oxidants.
Particle size The 100-mesh pass rate is greater than 98.5%. The 80-mesh pass rate is 100%. The particle size of special specifications is 40 to 60 mesh.
Carbonization temperature: 280-300℃
Apparent density: 0.25-0.70g/cm ³ (usually around 0.5g/cm ³), specific gravity: 1.26-1.31.
Color change temperature: 190-200℃
Surface tension: 42-56dyne/cm for a 2% aqueous solution
Solubility: Soluble in water and some solvents. Aqueous solutions have surface activity. It has high transparency and stable performance. The gel temperature of products of different specifications varies, and the solubility changes with viscosity. The lower the viscosity, the greater the solubility. The performance of HPMC of different specifications varies to some extent. The dissolution of HPMC in water is not affected by pH value.
The surface activity of HPMC decreases as the methoxy content decreases, the gel point increases, and the water solubility decreases.
HPMC also features thickening ability, low salt resistance, low gray powder, pH stability, water retention, dimensional stability, excellent film-forming property, as well as extensive enzyme resistance, dispersibility and adhesiveness.

Main uses:

1. Construction industry: As a water-retaining agent and retarder for cement mortar, it endows the mortar with pumpability. It can be used as an adhesive in plastering mortar, gypsum materials, putty powder or other building materials to improve the spreadability and extend the working time. Used to paste ceramic tile, marble, plastic decoration, paste enhancer, can also reduce the amount of cement. The water retention property of HPMC ensures that the slurry will not crack due to rapid drying after application, enhancing the strength after hardening.

2. Ceramic manufacturing industry: It is widely used as an adhesive in the production of ceramic products.

3. Coatings Industry: It is used as a thickener, dispersant and stabilizer in the coatings industry, and has good compatibility in both water and organic solvents. As a paint stripper.

4. Ink printing: In the ink industry, it serves as a thickener, dispersant and stabilizer, and has good compatibility in both water and organic solvents.

5. Plastics: Used as mold release agents, softeners, lubricants, etc.

6. Polyvinyl chloride: It is used as a dispersant in the production of polyvinyl chloride and is the main additive for the suspension polymerization to prepare PVC.

7. Pharmaceutical industry: Coating materials; Membrane material; Rate-controlling polymer materials for sustained-release preparations; Stabilizer Suspending agent; Tablet binder Tackifier

8. Others: It is also widely used in the leather, paper products, fruit and vegetable preservation, and textile industries, etc.
