    Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose, abbreviated as HPMC, is a non-ionic cellulose ether multi-functional thickening and water-retaining construction chemical widely used in tile adhesive, waterproof coating, building mortar and daily detergent industries. It is refined from high-purity cotton pulp raw material through alkalization, etherification, washing, drying and grinding processes, presenting uniform white fine powder without peculiar smell. Our factory strictly controls methoxy and hydroxypropyl substitution degree indexes, with stable viscosity of different grades, low ash and low impurity content, which can greatly improve the construction performance and finished product quality of mortar, adhesives and detergent formulas.
    HPMC owns three core functions: water retention, thickening and lubrication, which are irreplaceable in construction material formulas. Excellent water retention performance can lock moisture inside mortar and tile adhesive, slow down water evaporation speed during construction, effectively prevent wall surface hollowing, cracking and insufficient hydration of cement caused by fast drying, extend open time and adjust construction operation period freely. The thickening effect significantly improves the viscosity and anti-sagging performance of tile glue and waterproof slurry; when tiling vertical walls, the adhesive will not slide down, greatly reducing construction waste. Besides, it provides smooth lubricity for mortar mixing and scraping, reduces construction resistance and improves work efficiency for workers.
    Different viscosity grades match diversified application scenarios. Medium-low viscosity HPMC is mainly added into liquid detergent, daily chemical cleaning products and water-based coatings as thickener and stabilizer, making the solution uniform without stratification and improving product texture. Medium and high viscosity specifications are dedicated to tile adhesive, wall putty, self-leveling mortar, exterior thermal insulation mortar and waterproof coating, enhancing the bonding strength and crack resistance of building materials. It has good compatibility with cement, gypsum, latex powder and other common construction raw materials, no adverse chemical reaction and stable long-term storage formula system.
