For instance, when used in combination with dithiocarbamate and tellurium dithiocarbamate, it can be used as an accelerator for butyl rubber. When used in combination with lead tribasic butadiene succinate, it can be applied to light-colored water-resistant chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber compounds. It is often used in combination with dithiocarbamate in latex, but when used in combination with diethyldithiocarbamate diethylamine, it can be vulcanized at room temperature. This product is easy to disperse in rubber and does not cause pollution. However, due to its bitter taste, it is not suitable for rubber products that come into contact with food. Accelerator M is an intermediate of accelerators MZ, DM, NS, DIBS, CA, ChemicalbookDZ, NOBS, MDB, etc. 2-mercaptobenzothiazole is refluxed with 1-amino-4-nitroanthraquinone and potassium carbonate in dimethylformamide for 3 hours. Disperse brilliant red S-GL (C.I.despersered121) can be produced. This dye is used for dyeing polyester and its blended fabrics. 2-mercaptobenzothiazole is also known as acidic copper plating brightener M when used as an electroplating additive. It serves as a leveling brightener in bright copper plating with copper sulfate as the main salt. In addition, this product is also used in the production of fungicides for pesticides, nitrogen fertilizer enhancers, cutting and lubricating additives, organic anti-ashing agents in photochemistry, and metal corrosion inhibitors, etc. Besides, it is also a reagent for chemical analysis. This product is of low toxicity and has an irritating effect on the skin and mucous membranes.
