About Croscarmellose Sodium

Croscarmellose sodium is a white or off-white powder, used as a disintegrant in oral formulations. It swells in water to form a suspension and is insoluble in organic solvents. Suitable for capsules, tablets, and granules, it can significantly improve the drug dissolution rate. Whether for direct compression or wet granulation, it can effectively exert a disintegrating effect, with a common dosage of 2%-5% of the total weight of the formulation.

Production Process Description

Hydrochloric acid (HCl) reacts with the sodium carboxymethyl group in sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC-Na), generating sodium chloride (NaCl) as an impurity.

Solvent Residue

No residual solvents other than ethanol are introduced during the product production process.
