Description

Chelating Ion Exchange Resin with Iminodiacetate (IDA) functional groups is a macroporous polystyrene–divinylbenzene copolymer resin functionalized with iminodiacetic acid groups. This resin is specifically designed to chelate (form stable coordination bonds) with divalent and trivalent metal ions. Unlike standard cation exchange resins, IDA chelating resins exhibit high selectivity for heavy metals such as copper, nickel, cobalt, zinc, and rare earth elements, even in the presence of competing alkali and alkaline earth ions. It is widely used for hydrometallurgical recovery, wastewater treatment, and industrial process purification.
