• PropertiesIt is a colorless or light yellow transparent liquid at room temperature, with a strong pungent odor, and its vapor has strong lachrymatory properties. It is soluble in 2-3 parts of water. It is completely miscible with most organic solvents and paraffin hydrocarbons (such as n-hexane, n-octane, n-pentane). It is unstable; its vapor forms an explosive mixture with air, and it is prone to combustion and explosion when exposed to open flames or high heat. It is prone to polymerization when exposed to high heat, releasing a large amount of heat.

• UsesFungicide. It is commonly used as a fungicide in oilfield reinjection water treatment and industrial circulating cooling water treatment. In neutral to slightly alkaline circulating water systems, the usual dosage is 0.2-1mg/L. In oilfield water injection, the dosage is generally 10-15mg/L. However, in the papermaking industry, it is not used as a slime inhibitor.
