Chinese gallotannin, sometimes also known as galltannin, is a natural compound extracted from the Chinese medicinal herb galls.
If ordinary tannins are the "defensive weapons" of plants, then gallnut tannins are the "heavy gunners" among them. It belongs to hydrolyzed tannins, which not only have extremely high content (up to 60% -80% in galls), but also have an irreplaceable position in the fields of medicine, industry, and food due to their unique chemical structure and biological activity.
