What is Valnemulin Hydrochloride/ Valnemulin HCl ?

Valnemulin hydrochloride is the salt prepared from valnemulin taking advantage of the basic amino group which protonates and readily forms the salt  solutions. The hydrochloride is the preferred formulation for pharmaceutical applications. Valnemulin is a broad spectrum antibiotic used to control gastrointestinal infections in animals, and shows no cross resistance to other antibiotic classes. Like all the pleuromutilins, valnemulin inhibits protein synthesis by binding to domain V of 23S RNA.

Valnemulin hydrochloride is the second-generation pleuromutilin-specific antibiotic for animals. It is effective against different species of Mycoplasma, Mycoplasma, Streptococcus, Staphylococcus aureus, Actinobacillus, Pasteurella, Treponema hyodysenteriae and colonic fimbriae. It is the first veterinary drug premix approved in Europe and listed as a veterinary prescription drug, which is used in the prevention and treatment of chronic respiratory diseases in chickens, pig respiratory and digestive tract diseases have a good effect.

Valnemulin hydrochloride has significant curative effect on swine dysentery caused by B. hyodysenteriae infection, mycoplasma actinomycete pneumonia, porcine proliferative enteropathy (ileitis), and swine endemic pneumonia caused by mycoplasma pneumoniae infection.
