1,3-Acetonedicarboxylic Acid has the chemical formula C₅H₆O₅ and a molecular weight of 146.10. Its CAS number is 542-05-2.
It usually appears as colorless needle-like crystals or white to pale yellow powders, with a melting point of approximately 133-135℃ (decomposition), a boiling point of about 408.4℃, and a flash point of about 214.9℃.
Its chemical structure contains two carboxyl groups, which have strong acidity, with a pKa value of approximately 3.10.
This compound is not very stable and easily decomposes at room temperature. It is sensitive to heat, acids, and bases.
