    Chinese Name: Polyether Defoamer | English Name: Polyether Defoamer
    Manufacturer: Qingdao Zhongshitiancheng Petrochemical Co., Ltd. This is an industrially applicable, modified polyether defoaming agent produced using ethylene oxide and propylene oxide block polymerization technology. It belongs to the non-ionic, water-based defoaming category and is currently the preferred eco-friendly defoaming material in water treatment and fine chemical industries.


      Core application areas


    This product effectively addresses bubble formation and stabilization issues in aqueous systems, with four key applications:
    1. Water treatment industry: Industrial circulating water, biochemical wastewater treatment, municipal sewage aeration tanks, reverse osmosis water treatment, and reclaimed water reuse. It eliminates biochemical foam generated during aeration without affecting microbial activity.
    2. Paint industry: Water-based latex paints, industrial water-based coatings, water-based inks, and emulsion polymerization processes. It prevents defects such as shrinkage pores and bubbles caused by mixing, stirring, or spraying.
    3. Papermaking industry: It helps eliminate foam from pulping black liquor, papermaking white water, and coating materials. Suitable for medium- to high-temperature papermaking processes, it does not affect paper sizing or coloring.
    4. Industrial cleaning: Used in metal water-based cleaners, strong alkaline industrial degreasers, textile pretreatment solutions, and electroplating cleaners. It withstands weak acidic and alkaline environments and breaks down foam formed by surfactants.


      Product formula and ingredient composition 


    The product is composed of three main components. It contains no mineral oils or silicones and uses a pure polyether formula, ensuring excellent compatibility:
    1. Polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene block polyether (main active ingredient): 80%–90%
    This is the core defoaming component of the product (CAS: 9003-11-6). Its EO-PO block structure enables it to quickly break and suppress bubbles by reducing surface tension. It combines long-lasting foam suppression with rapid bubble destruction, making it the key factor behind the product’s defoaming capabilities.
    2. Non-ionic emulsifier blend: 5%–10%
    This component helps improve the water dispersibility of the polyether in various aqueous systems. It prevents the defoamer from separating or causing oil contamination. It is suitable for use in coatings with varying solid contents as well as in cleaning solutions containing high levels of surfactants.
    3. Deionized water: The remaining amount
    Deionized water serves as an environmentally friendly diluent. It contains no organic solvents and eliminates the risk of VOC excess, meeting the standards required for cosmetics and eco-friendly raw materials.

    Use safety specifications


    (I) On-Site First Aid Procedures
    1. Skin Contact: Immediately rinse the affected area with soapy water. If redness, itching, or other discomfort occurs, seek medical attention promptly.
    2. Eye Exposure: Rinse the eyes continuously with clean, flowing water for at least 15 minutes. Keep the eyelids open during rinsing. If discomfort persists, seek medical examination.
    3. Inhaling Volatile Vapor: Move to an area with fresh air outdoors immediately. Seek medical help if you experience chest tightness or nausea.
    4. Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Rinse the mouth with water and drink plenty of warm water. Seek medical attention if you feel unwell.

    (II) Fire Safety Characteristics
    1. Hazardous Properties: The product is non-flammable, with a flash point above 100°C. Molecular decomposition only occurs at extremely high temperatures (>250°C), producing carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and normal smoke. There are no highly toxic by-products from decomposition.
    2. Appropriate Extinguishing Agents: Water spray, foam extinguishers, dry powder extinguishers, and carbon dioxide extinguishers can be used to put out the fire. No extinguishing agents are prohibited.

    (III) Emergency Response to Leaks
    1. Small Spills: Use inert absorbent materials like sand or diatomaceous earth to absorb the spilled liquid. Collect it in sealed plastic containers for recycling. Do not pour it down the drain.
    2. Large-Scale Spills: Contain the spill using barriers and pump the liquid into spare storage containers for reuse. Treat any remaining liquid with absorbent materials. Prevent the waste liquid from entering rivers, soil, or municipal sewage systems to avoid aquatic environmental pollution.

    (IV) Daily Operations and Personal Protection
    1. Working Environment: Ensure natural ventilation in production areas to avoid prolonged exposure to mist in enclosed spaces. Minimize direct contact of the liquid with skin and eyes. Wear nitrile/rubber gloves and goggles during normal operations.
    2. Special Conditions: When high-speed mixing generates large amounts of mist, wear additional dust and gas masks.

    (V) Storage Requirements
    Store the product in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse. Keep it in sealed HDPE plastic containers. The storage temperature should be between 5°C and 30°C. Store it away from strong oxidizers such as hydrogen peroxide, potassium permanganate, and chlorates. Do not store these chemicals together to prevent deterioration.


    Product stability and reaction performance  


    1.Room temperature stability: Physical and chemical properties remain stable for 12 months under normal storage conditions, with no layering or reduction in defoaming efficiency.
    2. Compatibility restrictions: Mixing with strongly oxidizing chemicals is strictly prohibited. Strong oxidants can destroy the molecular structure of polyether, rendering the product ineffective.
    3. Application range: Suitable for use in aqueous systems with pH levels ranging from weakly acidic to weakly alkaline. It maintains effective defoaming performance in pH ranges of 3 to 11.


    Packaging, Transportation, and Waste Disposal


    1. Packaging Specifications
    Industrial standard packaging: 25kg or 50kg HDPE high-density plastic drums with sealed lids to prevent leakage. These drums are suitable for export in full containers.

    2. Transportation Guidelines
    This product is not classified as a hazardous material by the United Nations (no UN number assigned). Therefore, it is not subject to regulations governing the transport of hazardous goods. It can be transported using regular freight vehicles, small shipments, or sea containers. Shipping costs via land or sea are low, and customs clearance for exports is straightforward.

    3. Waste Disposal
    Expired defoamers and empty packaging drums should be disposed of as general industrial solid waste. Follow local environmental regulations and hand them over to qualified waste management companies for proper disposal. Do not dispose of them improperly.
