      Product Introduction

Tall Oil Rosin (Abbr: TOR, CAS:8052-41-3, HS Code:3806109000) is amber to dark brown brittle solid resin refined from crude tall oil by distillation. We supply industrial standard grades complying with international quality norms. It features good tackiness, film-forming ability, acid reactivity and compatibility with polymers, widely used as core resin raw material in adhesives, coatings, papermaking and rubber industries.

    Items Specifications
Appearance Amber to Dark Brown Brittle Solid
    Acid Value 160–180 mg KOH/g
    Softening Point (Ring & Ball) 75–85 ℃
    Unsaponifiable Matter ≤8.0%
    Ash Content ≤0.1%
    Color (Gardner) 6–12

    Applications
    Adhesive Industry (Core Application)
Key raw material for hot melt adhesives, pressure-sensitive adhesives, wood glue and packaging adhesives. It improves initial tack, peel strength and cohesive force, reduces formulation viscosity and lowers production cost, widely used in label, tape, furniture and carton bonding.
    Coating & Printing Ink Industry
Used as binder and gloss modifier for offset inks, road marking paints, alkyd coatings and varnishes. It boosts paint gloss, leveling performance and pigment dispersion, enhances coating adhesion on metal, plastic and wood substrates.
    Papermaking Industry
Main sizing agent for paper and cardboard. It forms water-resistant film on fiber surface, improves paper water repellency, printing performance and surface smoothness, suitable for cultural paper, packaging paper and kraft paper production.
    Rubber Industry
Processing aid for natural and synthetic rubber. It softens rubber matrix, improves filler dispersion and extrusion fluidity, increases rubber surface tackiness, and reduces vulcanization temperature for tire, hose and rubber goods manufacturing.
    Surfactant & Emulsifier Synthesis
Raw material for producing rosin-based emulsifiers, soap and metalworking fluid additives. Its high acid value enables esterification and salt neutralization reactions to prepare anionic surfactants for textile and industrial cleaning.
    Other Industrial Uses
Used as flux auxiliary for solder, raw material for synthetic terpene phenol resin, and dispersant for mineral flotation. Also applied in asphalt modification to improve asphalt adhesion and anti-cracking performance.

    Product Advantages
✅ Strong initial tack: Excellent adhesion performance, significantly upgrade bonding strength of adhesive systems
✅ Wide compatibility: Miscible with alkyd resin, EVA, rubber and various polymer materials
✅ Stable softening point: Consistent batch quality, stable processing performance in continuous production
✅ Cost-effective renewable resource: Derived from pulp by-product, lower cost than gum rosin
✅ Good pigment dispersion: Perfect auxiliary for ink and coating to avoid pigment agglomeration
✅ Easy processing: Low impurities, no precipitation during heating and melting operation

    Packaging & Storage
Standard packaging: 25kg kraft paper bags lined with PE film, or 200kg iron drums for molten bulk supply. Store in cool, dry, ventilated warehouse below 30°C. Seal tightly, keep away from open flame, high temperature and oxidants. Shelf life 24 months under proper storage.
    Safety Information
Non-hazardous goods for general transport. Molten product may cause skin scald; avoid inhalation of hot fumes. Wear heat-resistant gloves and goggles during melting operation. Rinse skin with cold water immediately if contacted with hot rosin. MSDS, COA and full export certificates available on request.
