It was first registered in Japan in March 2018 . The compound appears as a white crystalline powder with the molecular formula C₂₂H₂₀F₃NO₅ and a molecular weight of 435.39 g/mol .
With a purity of ≥98.0% by HPLC/qNMR, Flometoquin is classified by the Insecticide Resistance Action Committee (IRAC) under Group 34 as a mitochondrial complex III electron transport inhibitor acting specifically at the Qi site—a mechanism distinct from other mitochondrial inhibitors .
