    1. Physical Properties
    (1) Appearance: At room temperature, it is a white, orthorhombic crystalline, flaky, or powdery solid; industrial-grade products may appear as pale gray lumps and are odorless.
    (2) Solubility: Highly soluble in water, releasing a large amount of heat upon dissolution; also soluble in ethanol and glycerol, but only slightly soluble in nonpolar solvents such as diethyl ether.
    (3) Hygroscopicity: It is extremely hygroscopic; when exposed to air, it rapidly absorbs moisture and deliquesces, while simultaneously absorbing carbon dioxide and gradually deteriorating into potassium carbonate.
    (4) Other Characteristics: Its aqueous solution is highly conductive and has a slippery feel; the substance itself is non-volatile.
    2. Chemical Properties
    (1) Strong Alkalinity: It is a typical strong inorganic base; its aqueous solution can reach a pH as high as 14. It completely ionizes to produce hydroxide ions and can undergo neutralization reactions with various acidic substances.
    (2) Reactivity: It reacts with acidic oxides such as carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide to form the corresponding potassium salts; it reacts with amphoteric metals such as aluminum to release flammable hydrogen gas.
    (3) Thermal Stability: It is stable at room temperature and does not readily decompose through dehydration even at high temperatures; however, it exudes a large amount of heat upon contact with water or water vapor, forming a highly corrosive solution.
    (4) Organic Reactivity: It acts as a nucleophile in saponification reactions, converting fats and oils into potassium soaps; it can also serve as a catalyst in certain organic synthesis reactions.
    (5) Corrosiveness: Classified as a Class 8.2 alkaline corrosive substance, it exerts strong corrosive effects on various materials, including skin, mucous membranes, metals, and glass.
    3. Major Applications
    (1) Chemical Raw Materials: It serves as a core raw material for the production of various potassium salts, such as potassium carbonate, potassium permanganate, and potassium dihydrogen phosphate, and is widely used in various fine chemical syntheses.
    (2) New Energy Batteries: As an electrolyte in alkaline batteries, nickel-metal hydride batteries, and water electrolysis for hydrogen production, solutions with a concentration of 20%–40% can significantly improve the system’s electrical conductivity and extend the battery’s cycle life.
    (3) Household and Personal Care Sector: It is a core raw material for soap products; through saponification reactions, it is used to produce soft potassium soap and liquid soap, and is also used to adjust the pH of various facial cleansers and shower products.
    (4) Textile Industry: Used in the mercerization of cotton fabrics to enhance fiber luster and strength; it is also used for bleaching and dye dissolution in printing and dyeing processes, as well as for degrading organic pigments in textile wastewater.
    (5) Food and Pharmaceutical Sectors: As a compliant food additive (E525), it is used to adjust the pH of food products and as a stabilizer; it is also used for pH adjustment in certain pharmaceutical formulations and in the synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
    (6) Other Applications: It can also be used in a variety of fields, including semiconductor wafer etching, humic acid extraction from coal, and the production of industrial descaling cleaners.

    Grades and Specifications:Industrial-grade;custom specifications available.

The product strictly complies with the GB/T 2961-2014 national standard, accompanied by a complete set of MSDS, commodity inspection reports, and hazardous packaging certificates, and meets EU REACH import and export requirements.
