    Potassium hydroxide

    1310-58-3

    China original with stable quality

    Nature:
Potassium hydroxide is a strong base that can be completely dissolved in water to produce a potassium hydroxide solution. Its solution is alkaline and can neutralize acidic substances.
Potassium hydroxide is corrosive and can react with many organic and inorganic substances.
It absorbs moisture and rapidly absorbs carbon dioxide to form potassium carbonate.

    Purpose:
Potassium hydroxide is widely used in chemistry laboratories as a commonly used chemical reagent.
It is used to make everyday products such as soaps, cleaners and lubricants. Potassium hydroxide can also be used as an important raw material in industries such as electroplating, aluminum anodizing, cellulose production and coating preparation.

    Application field
    1. Used for electroplating, engraving, lithography, etc.
2, used as raw materials for potassium salt production, such as potassium permanganate, potassium carbonate, etc.
    3. In the pharmaceutical industry, it is used for the production of potassium boronide, andiolactone, sarhepatol, testosterone propionate, progesterone, vanillin and so on.
4, in the light industry for the production of potash soap, alkaline batteries, cosmetics (such as cold cream, cream and shampoo).
5, in the dye industry, used to produce VAT dyes, such as VAT blue RSN.
6, used as an analytical reagent, saponification reagent, carbon dioxide and water absorbent.
    7. In the textile industry, it is used for printing and dyeing, bleaching and mercerizing, and is widely used as the main raw material for the manufacture of man-made fibers and polyester fibers, and is also used for the manufacture of melamine dyes.
8, also used in metallurgical heating agent and leather degreasing and other aspects.
Packing method: Solid can be packed into 0.5 mm thick steel drum tightly sealed, the net weight of each barrel does not exceed 100 kg; Plastic bag or two layer kraft paper bag with full opening or middle opening steel drum; Threaded glass bottles, iron lid pressed glass bottles, plastic bottles or metal barrels (cans) outside ordinary wooden cases; Threaded glass bottles, plastic bottles or tinned sheet steel barrels (cans) with soleplate lattice boxes, fiberboard boxes or plywood boxes; Tinned steel drum (can), metal drum (can), plastic bottle or metal hose outer corrugated carton.
    Storage precautions:
Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat. The humidity in the warehouse should be no more than 85%. The package must be sealed and protected from moisture. It should be stored separately from easy (can) combustibles and acids, and should not be mixed. Storage areas should be equipped with suitable materials to contain leaks.
Transportation precautions: When transported by rail, steel drum packaging can be transported by open car. The packing should be complete and the loading should be secure. During transportation, it is necessary to ensure that the container does not leak, collapse, fall or damage. It is strictly prohibited to mix with inflammable or combustible materials, acids, edible chemicals, etc. Transportation vehicles should be equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment during transportation.

Potassium hydroxide, solution appears as an clear aqueous solution. Corrosive to metals and tissue. Noncombustible. Used in chemical manufacturing, petroleum refining, cleaning compounds.|Potassium hydroxide is an alkali metal hydroxide.|Potassium hydroxide, also known as lye is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula KOH. Also commonly referred to as caustic potash, it is a potent base that is marketed in several forms including pellets, flakes, and powders. It is used in various chemical, industrial and manufacturing applications. Potassium hydroxide is also a precursor to other potassium compounds. Potassium hydroxide is used in food to adjust pH, as a stabilizer, and as a thickening agent. This ingredient has been considered as generally safe as a direct human food ingredient by the FDA, based upon the observance of several good manufacturing practice conditions of use. In addition to the above uses, potassium hydroxide is also used in making soap, as an electrolyte in alkaline batteries and in electroplating, lithography, and paint and varnish removers. Liquid drain cleaners contain 25 to 36% of potassium hydroxide. Medically, potassium hydroxide (KOH) is widely used in the wet mount preparation of various clinical specimens for microscopic visualization of fungi and fungal elements in skin, hair, nails, and even vaginal secretions,. Recently, it has been studied for efficacy and tolerability in the treatment of warts. It was determined that topical KOH solution was found to be a safe and effective treatment of plane warts.
