Methyl Acetate (CAS:79‑20‑9, molecular formula also known as acetic acid methyl ester, is a low‑boiling fast‑evaporating ester solvent produced by esterification reaction of acetic acid and methanol, followed by rectification and refining. It appears as colorless transparent volatile liquid with pleasant fruity aroma. Miscible with alcohols, ketones, esters and many organic solvents, partially soluble in water. It possesses strong dissolving capacity for cellulose nitrate, acrylic resin, polyurethane and natural rubber. Featuring fast evaporation rate, low photochemical activity, easy biodegradability, it is an eco‑friendly alternative solvent compliant with increasingly strict VOC regulations. Store in cool, dry and well‑ventilated flammable chemical warehouse, keep tightly sealed. Keep far away from open flame, high temperature, heat sources, strong oxidants, strong acids and strong bases. Implement anti‑static measures during handling. Avoid direct sunlight and rain soaking in transit. Shelf life: 24 months under sealed dry storage.
