      Product Introduction

Methyl Acetate (CAS:79‑20‑9, molecular formula also known as acetic acid methyl ester, is a low‑boiling fast‑evaporating ester solvent produced by esterification reaction of acetic acid and methanol, followed by rectification and refining. It appears as colorless transparent volatile liquid with pleasant fruity aroma. Miscible with alcohols, ketones, esters and many organic solvents, partially soluble in water. It possesses strong dissolving capacity for cellulose nitrate, acrylic resin, polyurethane and natural rubber. Featuring fast evaporation rate, low photochemical activity, easy biodegradability, it is an eco‑friendly alternative solvent compliant with increasingly strict VOC regulations. Our production adopts continuous rectification technology to strictly control chroma, acidity, moisture and methanol impurities, stable purity, widely applied in coatings, printing ink, artificial leather, cleaning agent, pharmaceutical synthesis and flavor & fragrance industries.

    Applications
Coating & Ink Industry (Core Consumption Field)
High-efficiency fast-evaporating solvent for solvent-based coatings, acrylic paints, gravure printing inks and screen printing inks. It dissolves various film-forming resins, accelerates drying speed, improves leveling property and gloss of paint film, reduces surface defects such as orange peel. Widely used in furniture paint, plastic coating, packaging printing ink formulations.
Artificial Leather & Composite Material Industry
Main solvent for polyurethane synthetic leather surface treatment slurry. It adjusts evaporation speed to optimize surface smoothness and texture of artificial leather; also used as solvent for adhesive of composite membrane materials.
    Industrial Cleaning Agent Industry
Environmentally friendly degreasing solvent for hardware, plastic and electronic parts cleaning. Effectively removes grease, resin residue and printing ink dirt; low residue after volatilization, suitable for precision component cleaning instead of high-pollution solvents.
    Pharmaceutical & Fine Chemical Synthesis
Extraction solvent and reaction medium for pharmaceutical intermediate synthesis; used for separation and purification of natural extracts. It serves as raw material for manufacturing other ester derivatives and organic synthetic intermediates.
    Flavor & Fragrance Industry
Permitted food flavor additive for fruit flavor formulations; also used as solvent for essence and spice in daily chemical products.
    Other Fields
Solvent for cellophane, nitrocellulose; auxiliary solvent for aerosol formulations; extraction agent for oils and organic substances.

    Product Advantages
✅ Fast evaporation speed, low residual rate, excellent dissolving power for multiple resin systems.
✅ Low photochemical reactivity, easily biodegradable, favorable environmental performance compared with hydrocarbon solvents.
✅ Strict control of acidity and methanol impurities, stable batch quality, no adverse effect on color of finished products.
✅ Good compatibility with ketones, alcohols and other solvents, flexible formula collocation.
✅ Complete COA, MSDS and export documents available for customs clearance globally.
✅ Sufficient spot supply, support sample testing and full-container long-term orders with flexible delivery arrangement.

    Packaging & Storage
Standard package: 180kg galvanized iron drum; IBC tank or ISO tank for bulk shipment.
Store in cool, dry and well‑ventilated flammable chemical warehouse, keep tightly sealed. Keep far away from open flame, high temperature, heat sources, strong oxidants, strong acids and strong bases. Implement anti‑static measures during handling. Avoid direct sunlight and rain soaking in transit. Shelf life: 24 months under sealed dry storage.
    Safety Information
Extremely flammable liquid, UN number:1231, Class 3 dangerous goods for international transportation.
Vapor is heavier than air and may spread to ignition source and cause flashback. Inhalation of high concentration vapor irritates respiratory tract and may cause anesthetic effect; skin and eye contact leads to irritation. Operators must wear chemical-resistant gloves, safety goggles and anti-static overalls, ensure workshop ventilation and prohibit smoking. Complete MSDS including leakage handling and first-aid guidance will be provided together with each shipment.

    ECHEMI Editorial Reference
Methyl Acetate is an organic compound widely found in nature, with the chemical formula C3H6O2. This compound typically appears as a colorless, transparent liquid with a pleasant fruity aroma, reminiscent of certain fruits. Due to its excellent solubility, Methyl Acetate has a very high solubility in organic solvents, making it widely applicable in industrial and laboratory settings. Specifically, Methyl Acetate is often used as a solvent in the production of coatings, adhesives, inks, and plastics, due to its good dissolving capabilities. It can dissolve a variety of organic substances, including fats, resins, and certain natural and synthetic polymers. Additionally, Methyl Acetate is commonly used in laboratories for extraction and analytical chemical reactions, as it effectively dissolves many organic compounds, facilitating separation and purification. Due to its favorable solubility and low toxicity, Methyl Acetate also offers some environmental advantages. Compared to other organic solvents, Methyl Acetate poses less risk to the environment and human health, making it a more eco-friendly option in certain applications. However, despite its many advantages, it is essential to note its flammability and take appropriate safety measures to ensure safe usage.
