EPDM (Ethylene-Propylene-Diene Monomer rubber), CAS No. 25038-36-2, is a terpolymer of ethylene, propylene and a diene termonomer, typically 5-ethylidene-2-norbornene (ENB). It combines the saturated backbone of ethylene-propylene rubber with pendant unsaturation that enables sulfur and peroxide curing. As a result, EPDM offers outstanding resistance to ozone, weathering, heat, aging, water and chemicals, together with excellent electrical insulation, low-temperature flexibility and high elasticity. Our EPDM is supplied as 100% virgin granules with consistent quality and full batch traceability.

Main Applications

EPDM is one of the most versatile general-purpose rubbers. It is the standard material for automotive weather strips, door and window seals, sunroof seals and radiator hoses. It is widely used in O-rings, gaskets and diaphragms, in wire and cable insulation and sheathing, and in roofing membranes and waterproofing sheets for buildings and tunnels. EPDM also serves as the base polymer for TPV (thermoplastic vulcanizate) compounds, sponge and foam products, conveyor belts, vibration dampers, sports track surfaces and playground flooring. Its combination of long service life and low-temperature performance makes it the first choice for outdoor and under-hood applications.

Typical Specifications (per grade, COA issued per batch)

Mooney viscosity ML(1+4) 125°C: 25–90 (per grade); ENB content: 2.0–9.0%; Ethylene content: 45–70%; Density: 0.86–0.88 g/cm³; Volatile matter: ≤ 0.75%; Ash content: ≤ 0.30%; Appearance: white to light yellow granules. Detailed technical datasheets are available for each grade.

Packing & Storage

Standard packing is 25 kg PP woven bags with PE inner liners, 40 bags per pallet, approx. 13–14 MT per 20-foot container. Bale and bulk-box packing options are available. Store in a clean, dry and well-ventilated warehouse, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, ozone-generating equipment and oxidizing agents. Keep away from open flame. Shelf life: 24 months under proper storage.

EPDM raw rubber is non-toxic, non-hazardous and is not classified as dangerous goods. It ships as general cargo by sea, air or land. Use normal industrial hygiene practices when handling—avoid creating dust and wash hands after contact. Complete SDS and transport documents are provided with each shipment.

Quality Assurance

Every batch is tested for Mooney viscosity, ENB and ethylene content, ash and volatile matter before shipment; a Certificate of Analysis (COA) is issued with each delivery. We support third-party inspection by SGS, BV or Intertek upon request.
