Sodium thiosulfate pentahydrate, commonly known as Hypo or sodium hyposulfite, is a crystalline hydrate with five crystal water molecules, with CAS No.10102-17-7. It appears as colorless transparent crystal or granular crystal, odorless and easily soluble in water, but insoluble in alcohol. It has strong reducing property and is widely used as multi-functional industrial chemical raw material in water treatment, photography, textile, mining and metallurgy industries.
