High-purity lithium chloride anhydrous (LiCl) is a white crystalline powder with a minimum purity of 98%–99%. It is an inorganic alkali metal halide with the chemical formula LiCl and CAS number 7447-41-8. This product is a white, deliquescent solid at room temperature. Its aqueous solution is alkaline and can be dissolved in many organic solvents. It can form different adducts with ethanol, methanol and amines. It absorbs moisture from the air, so proper sealed storage is required.

    Product Specifications:

    • Chemical Formula: LiCl

    • CAS No.: 7447-41-8

    • Purity: 98%–99%

    • Appearance: White crystalline powder / deliquescent solid

    • Grade: Industrial grade / Battery grade available

    • Solubility: Soluble in water, ethanol, methanol, and many organic solvents

    • Aqueous Solution: Alkaline

    Key Applications:
Lithium chloride anhydrous is mainly used for electrolytic preparation of welding flux and flux for lithium and aluminum, and as a moisture absorption agent in non-freezing air conditioners. Flux used in electrolytic metal production (such as production of titanium and aluminum) is used as a welding agent for aluminum, a dehumidifier for air conditioners, and a raw material for special cement. In the battery industry, it is used to produce electrolyte for lithium-manganese batteries.

    Packaging & Storage:
Store in a sealed container in a dry environment to prevent moisture absorption from the air. Packaging options can be customized upon request.

    Quality Assurance:
Certificate of Analysis (COA) and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) are available upon request.

    Air and Water Reactions:

Very hygroscopic. Very soluble in water.

    Reactive Group:

    Non-Redox-Active Inorganic Compounds

    Reactivity Profile:

These materials have weak oxidizing or reducing powers. Redox reactions can however still occur. For example, CO2, which is often regarded as chemically inert, vigorously oxidizes the strong reducing agent Mg if the two are heated together. The majority of compounds in this class are slightly soluble or insoluble in water. If soluble in water, then the solutions are usually neither strongly acidic nor strongly basic. These compounds are not water-reactive. Some do react with acids: carbonates generate carbon dioxide and heat when treated with acids; fluorides, sulfites and sulfides generate toxic gases (hydrogen fluoride, sulfur dioxide and hydrogen sulfide, respectively) when treated with acids.

    Corrosivity:

May become corrosive upon contact with water or moist surfaces
