α-Bisabolol is a natural sesquiterpene alcohol mainly extracted from German chamomile essential oil. It is a classic soothing cosmetic active ingredient with remarkable anti-inflammatory, anti-irritant and antimicrobial properties. It can relieve skin redness, stinging and swelling caused by external stimulation, accelerate the repair of damaged epidermis, reduce transepidermal water loss, and bring calming comfort to sensitive skin. It also has mild antioxidant activity to protect skin from oxidative damage.

It appears as colorless to pale yellow oily liquid, freely soluble in oils, ethanol and ether, practically insoluble in water. Store in sealed, cool and dry conditions, away from high temperature and strong light.

Main Applications
