General procedure: A mixture of compound 5 (1 mmol), guanidine nitrate (2 mmol), anhydrous K2CO3 (5 mmol) in n-butanol (10 ml) was refluxed for 12 h. After cooling, the solution was poured into H2O (30 ml) and then extracted with ethyl acetate (3x20 ml). The combined organic layer was concentrated in vacuo and then purified by recrystallisation with diethyl ether.
