The product producing bacteria is Streptomyces curlyi. The fermentation broth is used to obtain fermentation broth, which is purified and concentrated by weak acid acrylic cation exchange resin, and then desalted by strong acid styrene cation exchange resin, decolorized by weak acid acrylic cation exchange resin, and film. concentrate. The concentrated solution is decolorized, heat-removed, sterile filtered, and spray dried to obtain the finished product.

Uses

Capreomycin is a complex of cyclic pentopeptides isolated from Streptomyces capreolus, first reported in 1962. The complex has two major components, IA and IB, with an exocyclic lysine residue and two minor delysinyl components, IIA and IIB. Capreomycin is a potent antibiotic with activity against mycobateria, Gram positive and Gram negative organisms. Capreomycin acts by binding to the 23S ribosomal subunit, disrupting protein synthesis.

Drug Function and Efficacy

This product is a polypeptide complex that has an inhibitory effect on Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The mechanism is not clear yet, but it may be related to the inhibition of bacterial protein synthesis. Bacteria are prone to develop drug resistance when used alone. This product has incomplete cross-resistance with kanamycin and puromycin.
