Drug Function and Efficacy

Aminoglycoside antibiotics have antibacterial effects on most Enterobacteriaceae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, some other Pseudomonas, Acinetobacter, Alcaligenes, meningococci, gonococci, influenza bacilli, Yersinia, Campylobacter fetus, Mycobacterium tuberculosis and some Mycobacterium. Its mechanism of action is to act on the 30S subunit of bacterial ribosomes and inhibit bacterial protein synthesis. Combination with semi-synthetic penicillins or cephalosporins often produces synergistic antibacterial effects.

Indication	1. This product combined with other aminoglycosides or applied topically or systemically successively may increase ototoxicity, nephrotoxicity and neuromuscular blocking effects. 2. This product combined with neuromuscular blocking drugs may aggravate neuromuscular blocking effects, leading to symptoms such as muscle weakness and respiratory depression. This product combined with capreomycin, cisplatin, ethacrynic acid, furosemide or vancomycin (or norvancomycin), etc., or applied topically or systemically successively may increase ototoxicity and nephrotoxicity. 3. This product combined with cephalothin or cefazolin topically or systemically may increase nephrotoxicity. This product should not be used with injections such as amphotericin B, cephalothin, sulfadiazine and tetracycline, and should not be dripped in the same bottle. 4. This product combined with polymyxin injections or applied topically or systemically successively may increase nephrotoxicity and neuromuscular blocking effects. 5. Other nephrotoxic and ototoxic drugs should not be used together with this product or applied successively to avoid aggravating nephrotoxicity or ototoxicity.
