Isepamicin Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

3h e, filter to remove the catalyst, concentrate the filtrate to dryness, chromatograph on silica gel, eluting with a mixture of chloroform, methanol and ammonium chloride. Compound (III) is obtained. After the compound (III) is reacted with trifluoroacetic acid, an excess of ether is added to produce a precipitate. The precipitate was collected by filtration, washed with ether, and then chromatographed on a silica gel column, eluted with chloroform-methanol-ammonium hydroxide (1:1.5:1). Obtained 0.352 g of isepamicin. It can be converted into isepamicin sulfate according to ordinary methods.

Uses

Semi-synthetic aminoglycoside antibiotics. Taking the medicine once a day is safe for people. Used for septicemia, chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis infection, pneumonia, peritonitis caused by sensitive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, pneumoniae, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
