2-chloro-5-ethylaminomethylpyridine Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

The preparation methods are as follows. Using 2-chloro-5-chloromethylpyridine as a raw material, it reacts with ethylamine in a solvent to produce a product. The 3-cyano-6-chloropyridine and ethylamine aqueous solution are hydrogenated under normal pressure in an ethanol suspension with Rh/Al as the catalyst. After the reaction, the catalyst is removed by filtration, and the product is obtained after post-treatment. The toluene solution of acetaldehyde was added to the 5-chloromethyl-2-aminopyridine toluene solution, the reaction temperature was 21-22°C, and the reaction was stirred for 2 hours. Then sodium borohydride was added to the solution in batches and reacted at this temperature for 3 hours. Add hydrochloric acid to adjust pH=7, evaporate the solvent, add alkali solution to the residue to adjust pH=11.5, extract and concentrate with toluene to obtain the product.

Uses

2-chloro-5-ethylaminomethylpyridine is an intermediate of the insecticide nitenpyram.
