Triapenthenol Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Chlorination of 3, 3-dimethyl-2-butanone produces 1-chloro-3, 3-dimethyl-2-butanone. Then in the presence of sodium ethoxide-ethanol, reflux reaction with 1, 2, 4-triazole for 2h to produce α-1, 2, 4-triazole-3, 3-dimethyl-2-butanone, and then Condensation reaction with cyclohexyl formaldehyde produces a mixture of E-ketone and Z-ketone. Z-ketone can be isomerized into E-ketone in the presence of amine catalyst, and then reduced with sodium borohydride to prepare imazalil.

Uses

Azole plant growth regulator. The main mode of action is to inhibit the biosynthesis of gibberellin. This product can inhibit the growth of crop stalks and increase crop yield. The agent is absorbed through the roots and leaves to achieve the purpose of inhibiting the growth of dicotyledon. At normal doses, this product does not inhibit root growth. The dosage of medicine is generally 300~750g/hm2, the dosage of gramineous crop is 0.7~1.4kg/hm2, this product also has bactericidal effect. (S)-(+)-enantiomer is a gibberellin biosynthesis inhibitor and a plant growth regulator; (R)-(+) enantiomer can inhibit ergosterol demethylation and is a fungicide.
