Methods of Manufacturing
The preparation method is that acrylonitrile reacts with carbon tetrachloride to generate 2, 4, 4, 4-tetrachlorobutyryl chloride, and 2, 4, 4, 4-tetrachlorobutene [1] ketone is generated under alkaline conditions. React with isobutylene in a pressure vessel to produce 2-chloro-2-trichloroethyl-3, 3-dimethylcyclobutanone.
Uses
2-chloro-2-trichloroethyl-3,3-dimethylcyclobutanone is an important intermediate for the preparation of permethrin by the cyclobutanone method.
