Description

White crystal or crystalline powder, odorless or has a slight odor, slight sour taste. Melting point is 234-237℃. Easily soluble in hot water, hot ethanol, alkaline water, propylene glycol, and chloroform. Slightly soluble in water and ethanol; 100ml room temperature water can dissolve 1.6g. Insoluble in ether and ester solutions. The PH of 1% aqueous solution is 3.0-4.0. Stable in heat, acidity and alkalinity. Nicotinic acid Use and Manufacturing

Niacin feed grade is used as vitamin for poultry, swines, ruminants, fish, dogs and cats, etc. It is also used as intermediate for nicotinic acid derivatives and technical applications. Biochemical research, nutrient composition of tissue culture; clinical drugs belong to the vitamin B family, used for the treatment of pellagra, vascular migraine and other diseases. This product is a vitamin drug, collectively referred to as vitamin PP with nicotinamide. It is used to fight pellagra, and can also be used as a blood expansion drug, and it is used as an additive in food and feed. As a pharmaceutical intermediate, it is used in the production of Isoniazid, Nicotinamide, Nicoxa and Inositol Nicotinate. One of the B vitamins, used to prevent pellagra and similar vitamin deficiencies, and also have the effect of expanding blood vessels

Drug Function and Efficacy

After being converted into NAD in the body, niacin exerts a lipid-lowering effect, which can reduce the levels of total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein (LDL-C) and triglycerides (TC), and increase the level of high-density lipoprotein (HDL-C). It can also reduce the serum levels of apolipoprotein B-100 (ApoB), most very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL), some LDL and lipoprotein a [Lp(a)].

Bile acid multivalent chelators: An in vitro study observed the binding ability of colestipol and cholestyramine to niacin. About 98% of niacin can be bound to colestipol and 10%-30% can be bound to cholestyramine.
