Description

white to off-white crystalline powder

Solid

N-methyl-D-aspartic acid is an aspartic acid derivative having an N-methyl substituent and D-configuration. It has a role as a neurotransmitter agent. It is a D-alpha-amino acid, a D-aspartic acid derivative, an amino dicarboxylic acid and a secondary amino compound.|An amino acid that, as the D-isomer, is the defining agonist for the NMDA receptor subtype of glutamate receptors (RECEPTORS, NMDA).
