1,1,2-Trichloroethane Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

1. Vinyl chloride chlorination method Put trichloroethane into the reactor in advance, and then feed vinyl chloride and chlorine gas (molar ratio 1:1.2) at 20-25°C for chlorination synthesis. The product is obtained by washing and separating. 2.1, 2-Dichloroethane chlorination method is obtained by chlorination at 60°C in the presence of aluminum trichloride or other metal chlorides.

Uses

Used in organic synthesis, also used as a solvent for cellulose acetate and rubber
