Geranyl nitrile Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

The oximation of citral and hydroxylamine produces citral oxime, which is then converted to citral nitrile with acetic anhydride as a decolorizing agent. Then through neutralization washing, layer separation, vacuum distillation to obtain lemon nitrile.

Uses

The product has a fresh lemon aroma and is suitable for formulating floral, fruity cosmetics and soap essences.
