Octachlorocyclopentene Use and Manufacturing
The preparation method is prepared by replacing tetrachlorocyclopentane by chlorine at high temperature and dehydrogenating. The reaction is completed in three enamel glass reactors connected in series. The jacket of the reactor is heated by the heating oil through the electric heating rod of the oil bath box. The raw material tetrachlorocyclopentane and chlorine are reversed to control the reaction temperature of the first reactor. 160℃, the relative density of the material is about 1.60(25℃), the temperature of the second reactor is 180℃, the relative density of the material is above 1.72(25℃), the temperature of the third reactor is 200℃, the relative density of the material reaches 1.80(45 ℃) above. The total time of chlorine ventilation is 40-50h, and the overflow from the third reactor is octachlorocyclopent-1-ene.
Octachlorocyclopent-1-ene is an intermediate of the insecticides chlordane and endosulfan and is used to synthesize hexachlorocyclopentadiene.
