C.I. Vat Red 14 Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Method 1: Heat the mixture of o-phenylenediamine and 1, 4, 5, 8-naphthalenetetracarboxylic acid in glacial acetic acid or pyridine solution (when glacial acetic acid is used as the solvent, the proportion of trans-isomer in the product is larger). Method 2: Heating 1, 4, 5, 8-naphthalenetetracarboxylic acid and o-nitroaniline to reduce the nitro group and cyclize. Method 3: Heating N, N'-diaryl-1, 4, 5, 8-naphthalenetetracarboximide and o-phenylenediamine. For operation examples, please refer to C.I.Vat Orange GR (C.I.Vat Orange 7).

Uses

Reduced Scarlet GG can be used for dyeing and printing cotton cloth. It has general affinity and good level dyeing, but it is not suitable for dyeing silk and wool. The color light is brighter than the red scarlet R yellow, but it is brighter than the red scarlet GGN, so it is used less.
