Pyruvate kinase Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Rabbit muscle is used as raw material, homogenized and extracted with water, and then fractionated and precipitated with ammonium sulfate and ethanol respectively. After heating to remove inactive proteins, it is again precipitated with ammonium sulfate and refined after recrystallization.

Uses

It is used for biochemical research and is often used as a diagnostic enzyme in clinical practice to determine adenosine diphosphate (ADP), adenosine monophosphate (AMP), phosphoenolpyruvate and phosphoglycerate.
