2-Bromobenzyl bromide Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

From the bromination of o-bromotoluene. The o-bromotoluene in the reaction pot was irradiated with a fluorescent lamp, and bromine was slowly added dropwise at 160-180°C, and the tail gas was absorbed by water. After the addition, the reaction was continued for 0.5h. Exhaust hydrogen bromide and low boilers (120°C, <8.0kPa) under reduced pressure, lower the temperature to below 40°C, and discharge to obtain o-bromobenzyl bromide.
