Cloperastine Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

It is obtained by etherification and condensation of 4-chlorobisbenzyl alcohol. Add 4-chlorobisbenzyl alcohol, chloroethanol, sulfuric acid and benzene to the reaction pot, stir, and heat to reflux for 4h. Let stand, and divide the organic layer. After washing with alkaline solution, washing with water to neutrality, recover benzene to obtain 4-chlorobenzyl β-chloroethyl ether. It is heated to reflux with hexahydropyridine and anhydrous sodium carbonate for 7 hours to produce Keping, which is refined by salt formation to obtain hydrochloride.

Uses

Non-narcotic antitussive, suitable for cough caused by colds, flu, bronchitis, tuberculosis, lung cancer and other diseases.
