Carbonyl sulfide Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

The preparation method is to generate carbon monoxide by reacting coke and oxygen in a carbon monoxide generating furnace, and after cooling, water washing, dust removing and alkali washing, and removing impurities such as hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide, the carbon monoxide gas cabinet is reserved for use. Sulfur is added into the carbon oxysulfide reactor quantitatively after melting and maintaining a certain level of sulfur liquid in the reactor. The dehydrated carbon monoxide is bubbled into the reactor according to the ratio of carbon monoxide: sulfur=1:3. Mix with sulfur vapor uniformly, and then enter the column-tube carbon oxysulfide reactor. In the presence of a catalyst, carbon oxysulfide is generated at 400-500°C. After removing unreacted sulfur, cooling and alkaline washing, carbon dioxide and After impurities such as hydrogen sulfide, carbon oxysulfide with a content of over 90% is obtained. CO+S[catalyst]→[400~500℃]COS

Uses

Grain fumigant.
