Methods of Manufacturing

The preparation method is to put concentrated sulfuric acid in a three-necked flask, add 2-amino-2, 3-dimethylbutyronitrile dropwise at 25°C under water bath cooling, then heat up to 100°C, keep the temperature for 1h, and add concentrated sulfuric acid below 75°C Ammonia water, stirred immediately, extracted with dichloromethane, dried and concentrated to obtain crystals as finished products.

Uses

2-Amino-2,3-dimethylbutyramide is an important intermediate in the synthesis of potent imadazoline herbicides. In addition, it is used to prepare new chiral ligands.
