Drug Information

Substances that inhibit or arrest DENTAL CARIES formation. (Boucher's Clinical Dental Terminology, 4th ed) (See all compounds classified as Cariostatic Agents.)|A chemical system that functions to control the levels of specific ions in solution. When the level of hydrogen ion in solution is controlled the system is called a pH buffer. (See all compounds classified as Buffers.)

Tripotassium phosphate Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

The edible arsenic-grade phosphoric acid reacts with the KOH solution, and is evaporated and concentrated to precipitate a crystal to obtain a monohydrate. Heat to 300-500℃ to form anhydrous salt.

Uses

It is used as a buffering agent.

Corrosion inhibitors and anti-scaling agents

Anti-freeze and de-icing products
