Plant protein is more beneficial to health than animal protein
Meat is not a healthy source of protein. It is much better to get the essential protein from plants. In general, diets that focus on plants tend to be healthier.
According to the report of the American Journal, a recent study found that people who eat more fruits and vegetables have a 31% lower risk of dying of cardiovascular disease than those who mainly eat animal foods The overall risk of death is about 20% lower. The study did not specifically target protein, but the group of participants who consumed another important animal food, dairy, had almost the same risk of illness. Therefore, the final conclusion was to replace meat with other protein sources.
In addition, there are some more convincing reasons that compared to bacon, sources of plant-based protein such as beans are a healthier alternative. This does not mean that people cannot and should not be addicted to cheese or grilled cheese burgers. But this shows that people should enjoy them sparingly.
According to reports, this study shows that in terms of long-term health, animal meats—especially red meats—are better than less. Of course, people do not have to fall in love with tofu (tofu is not the best plant protein), but only need to eat as much vegetable protein as possible and eat less animal protein. The following are deeper reasons:
Plant protein contains more nutrients and fiber.
Andrea Jankoli, a registered dietitian in California, said that plant protein is much healthier than meat protein in terms of getting the same amount of vitamins. This is because getting protein from plants allows people to consume fewer calories at the same time. They also contain something lacking in animal protein: fiber. Fiber can help digestion, promote the health of intestinal flora, and is closely related to a lower risk of cardiovascular disease.
People who eat vegetable protein tend to have healthier lifestyles.
Even after considering other influencing factors such as socioeconomic class, weight and exercise habits, people who eat more plants tend to live longer and healthier. They are less likely to have cardiovascular disease and have fewer cancer cases. People who eat vegetable protein may see a doctor more often to get better preventive health care. They often live in quieter places with less pollution.
In addition, although animal meat has many nutrients, the problem is that if people replace all animal proteins with equally diverse plant proteins such as nuts, seeds and beans, the situation will not be worse. These foods are also rich in similar nutrients, and meat is rich in saturated fat. Another reason for the unhealthy steak is the fat that accompanies the steak. Fat can make steaks and burgers tastier, but it can also be heartbreaking. With plant protein, saturated fat is less, and without cholesterol, you can also benefit from it."
