Kappa Vitamin K2VITAL raw material obtained non-GMO certification

ECHEMI 2020-05-08

Vitamin K2VITAL (K2 MK-7) manufacturer Kappa Bioscience has obtained non-GMO certification for K2VITAL MCC powder and medium-chain triglycerides produced worldwide.

In April, the non-profit organization Non-GMO Project (NON-GMO Project) issued a final certificate to the K2VITAL products produced in the United States.

Non-GMO is a growing consumption trend. Genetic modification of genetic material through genetic engineering is usually for commercial gain. Some consumers want to know if the product is genetically modified. Non-GMO certification can help consumers identify these products.

Non-GMO certification further strengthens Kappa's market position, especially in North America. Currently, 64 countries, including the EU Trade Group, require product labels to indicate whether they are genetically modified. The US and Canadian markets have no requirements. The Non-GMO Project is the leading third-party certification body in North America.

Although the non-GMO label is only for Kappa's raw material products, this certification also paves the way for the rapid application of finished product manufacturers for K2 ingredients.

K2 is an essential vitamin for the body to balance calcium. K2VITAL can activate protein, make calcium enter bone, prevent calcification of blood vessels and arteries.
