Kappa synthesis of vitamin K2 intermediate obtained US patent
Norwegian biotechnology company Kappa Bioscience has obtained a new patent in the United States: "Vitamin K2 Preparation Process", which is suitable for the synthesis of key intermediates of vitamin K2 (MK-7).
The new patent extends Kappa Bioscience's 2015 patent for vitamin K2 synthesis, extending the scope of protection of the original patent to include vitamin K2 synthesis process intermediates, and also protects and imports of manufactured products produced from intermediates using synthetic raw materials United States.
Synthetic vitamin K2 (MK-7) accounts for about 50% of the vitamin K2 market, and its market share is rapidly increasing due to its greater advantages in supply chain and price over fermented vitamin K2 (MK-7). The market size of vitamin K2 has doubled in the past three years, and market trends indicate that synthetic vitamin K2 (MK-7) will soon dominate the vitamin K2 market.
