ExxonMobil finds two oil and gas sites off the coast of Guyana

ECHEMI 2022-11-04

ExxonMobil announced in a statement on Wednesday that it had discovered two oil and gas fields off the coast of Guyana.

Hydrocarbon bearing sandstones have been found in Wells Sailfin-1 and Yarrow-1 of Stabroek Block, offshore Guyana, making the total number of discoveries in this block more than 30 since 2015.

ExxonMobil expects Guyana's oil production to exceed 1 million barrels per day by the end of this decade.

The statement quoted Liam Mallon, President of ExxonMobil's upstream business, as saying that we are committed to responsible and safe development of this world-class resource to help meet the global demand for safe, reliable and low emission energy.
