Opening of the new BASF plant in the US, producing pearlescent and sunscreen
BASF completed the construction of an investment project in South Carolina, USA, and has begun production of pearlescent agents, sunscreen agents and specialty mixtures at the base.
The base is located in Mauldin, South Carolina. The pearlescent agents and sunscreens produced by the base are subject to the "Mass Balance" of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil initiative. Certification. The company said that the start-up of the plant has expanded BASF's global production capacity and will meet the growing demand for these specialty materials.
Pearlescent agent and sunscreen agent are essential components of products such as hand sanitizer, shower gel, shampoo, etc., which can bring about luminous and opaque effects, respectively.
