Vietnam's exports of cassava and its products earned more than US$1.1 billion
According to the Viet Cong e-Daily, cassava and its products are Vietnam's main export products in the agricultural sector, and the export growth in the first few months of this year was impressive.
According to the latest statistics from the General Administration of Customs, the country exported about 240,000 tons of cassava and its products in October, with a total export value of nearly US$103 million, an increase of 23.5% and 17.2% respectively in quantity and value.
In the first 10 months of this year, export activity of this commodity maintained strong growth, with a cumulative export volume of 2.564 million tons and an export value of US$1.127 billion, an increase of 9.7% and 20.2% year-on-year, respectively.
It is worth mentioning that Vietnamese cassava and its products have the largest export share to China. In the first 10 months of this year, Vietnam's exports of cassava and its products to China reached 2.33 million tons, worth more than US$1 billion, accounting for nearly 91% of exports to China. Cassava, coffee, rice, cashew nuts, vegetables and fruits are the five commodities in the agricultural sector that earn more than one billion US dollars in foreign exchange.
By the end of October, the country's merchandise exports reached nearly $313 billion, up 16% year-on-year.
