Eni starts LNG production in Mozambique

ECHEMI 2022-11-22

Recently, the Italian group Eni announced that the company has started the production of its Mozambique LNG project, making Mozambique an LNG producer.

Eni said the first shipment of liquefied gas from the company's Coral South floating liquefied natural gas vessel will soon be shipped, and the cargo will be sold to BP under a 20-year agreement. The project is expected to produce 3.4 million tons of LNG per year.

Previously, Eni announced the news of the Mozambique project in its third-quarter financial report. The project, operated by Eni, liquefies natural gas from the leased area of Block 4 offshore. The lease is jointly owned by Eni and partners ExxonMobil, Portugal's Galp, South Korea's Kogas and Mozambique's state-owned company ENH.
