German natural gas storage facility reaches 100% gas storage capacity

On November 15, the gas storage capacity of German natural gas storage facilities has been 100% filled. However, some media pointed out that there is currently no reason to lift the alarm, and the threat of natural gas supply continues to exist.

According to data from the German energy regulator, the Federal Network Agency, the filling level of natural gas storage facilities in Germany has reached 100%. The working gas volume reported by storage facility operators refers to the safe capacity of the storage facility, and some storage facilities can continue to store more natural gas when the gas storage capacity reaches 100%. The progress of natural gas storage in the EU as a whole also shows a good situation. On November 14, the fill level was 95.6%, according to the European Gas Infrastructure Association. Due to the hot weather in Europe, natural gas can continue to be filled even though Europe has already entered the heating season.

However, some media said that the apparent abundance ofnatural gas in Europe is only a temporary phenomenon, and it does not mean that the natural gas supply alarm can be lifted. Even this winter, the Federal Network Agency cannot completely rule out a gas shortage. At the same time, experts also believe that in the next winter, the problem of natural gas supply will be much more serious. In the foreseeable time, Europe will still face an energy crisis. According to the Federal Network Agency, the next important goal is to keep the gas storage level still at 40% by February 1 next year. The International Energy Agency and the Federal Network Agency have called on the political community to take a countermeasure, focusing on improving energy efficiency and expanding renewable energy sources.
