Colombia has established sanitary requirements for the import of crustacean aquatic products

On November 16, 2022, the Colombian Institute of Agricultural Research issued Resolution No. 23427 of 2022 approving the hygiene of imported crustacean aquatic products Request. Main contents: (1) In order to prevent the introduction and spread of diseases that may affect aquaculture pests, corresponding prevention and control actions must be established; (2) According to the list of crustacean diseases of the World Health Organization's Aquatic Animal Health Code, the authorized import of crustaceans and their products must be countries, regions and quarantine areas that are free of infection with Aphanomyces astaci. Crustacean aquatic products in this country are not infected with acute hepatopancreatic necrosis (AHPND), infectious myonecrosis virus (IMNV), necrotizing hepatopancreatitis, Roche marsh shrimp noda virus, decapod iridescent virus type 1 (DIV1), infectious subcutaneous and hematopoietic necrovirus (IHHNV) and Taura syndrome virus (TSV). The resolution entered into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.
