Tencent Tang Daosheng: Accelerate the embrace of digital health and activate the endogenous power of the industry
"Digitalization is no longer an attempt to add to the cake for healthcare, but an endogenous driving force for vigorous development." On November 30, at the Smart Healthcare Session of the Tencent Digital Ecosystem Conference, Tang Daosheng, Senior Executive Vice President of Tencent and CEO of the Cloud and Smart Industry Business Group, disclosed the latest ecological cooperation report card of Tencent Health, and said that Tencent will deeply open up its self-developed product capabilities to accelerate the development of digital healthcare.
"From Internet hospitals that solve the difficulty of offline medical treatment, to disease control management based on big data, to AIDD to accelerate the research and development of vaccines and new drugs, digital technology has brought new methods to solve the pain points of the industry."
Tang Daosheng revealed that with C2B as the starting point, Tencent Health is accelerating its development in the past year: electronic health cards, through WeChat channels, have completed the binding of more than 500 million people, laying a digital foundation for integrated medical treatment. The medical insurance electronic voucher is connected to 31 provincial-level administrative regions across the country, and patients can realize medical insurance in-clinic payment and remote payment through WeChat. Tencent Health Mini Program has been connected to more than 2,700 registered hospitals, allowing users to book health services at their fingertips. Our AI guidance and AI pre-consultation services are in nearly 1,000 hospitals across the country, helping patients to register accurately and doctors to consult clearly.
Not only that, the entire medical and health industry is accelerating digitalization in an all-round way, actively using various digital tools to achieve service innovation and management efficiency.
In Shanghai, many hospitals such as Renji Hospital, Ruijin Hospital, and Shanghai Children's Medical Center have launched intelligent customer service functions to answer many common questions such as registration and drug delivery for patients, and have responded to nearly 10,000 consultation needs in a day. In Longli County, Guizhou, AI clinical assistants and AI pre-consultation provide reliable diagnostic suggestions for village doctors; Tencent Meeting has brought rich expert training to village doctors and improved the level of primary medical services. In the field of pharmaceutical R&D, artificial intelligence helps drug screening and R&D, and Tencent's AI drug discovery platform has both small and large molecule drug discovery capabilities, as well as prediction of protein structure, which can help drug cloud screening with super computing power and help pharmaceutical companies accelerate the drug development process.
Tang Daosheng said that with the advent of an aging society, medical and health care has become an increasingly important public demand. Under the guidance of the "Healthy China" strategy, the state is vigorously improving the social security system and putting the protection of people's health in a strategic position of priority development. Tencent Health will also focus on its core advantages and use digital technology to promote the high-quality development of medical services and protect people's health. Tencent will continue to promote the standardization, ease of use, and openness of its advantageous products such as cloud, audio and video, database, and security.
According to reports, Tencent has accumulated more than 400 enterprise applications, and there are many top products in cloud storage, database, audio and video, office collaboration and other fields, which are also widely used in medical scenarios. For example, 13 of the top 20 pharmaceutical companies are customers of Tencent Meeting; In Internet hospital services, Tencent electronic signature and enterprise point are widely used; Tencent Security escorted the epidemic prevention health codes of many provinces and cities across the country; Tencent Quantum Lab's high-performance computing platform TEFS can help life science research and optimize protein structure calculations.
Tang Daosheng hopes to deeply open up Tencent's self-developed product capabilities and work with partners to accelerate the development of digital healthcare. "The combination of our product capability reserve and ecological partner solutions will create the spark of innovation in digital health." We not only encourage ecological partners to integrate our standardized products; It also helps partners leverage Tencent's underlying technical capabilities to build their own products and solutions and jointly tap the potential and value of digital tools. ”
At the same time, Tencent Health will also make every effort to build three open platforms: open the interface and capabilities of electronic health cards, help ecosystem partners, and develop various applications for vertical scenarios. Open the local service platform of Tencent Health Mini Program to support rapid access by medical service institutions and open up the "last mile" of medical services; The Tencent Miying Experimental Platform is open to facilitate innovative collaboration of medical AI and help partners build full-process capabilities from image data desensitization, access, and annotation to model training, testing, and application.
Tang Daosheng also revealed that Tencent has established a "Life Science Technology Committee" within Tencent to gather the technical capabilities of Tencent AI Lab, AI Platform Department, Quantum Lab, Tianyan Lab and other teams to explore the integration and innovation of digital technology and life science, and help the development of AIDD, medical AI, biotechnology, smart devices and other tracks.
He believes that new opportunities for true interconnection are coming, and the superposition of digital twins, remote interactions, ubiquitous intelligence, trusted protocols, unlimited computing power and other technologies will bring new possibilities for the breakthrough and development of medical and health undertakings.
