Two government officials told Reuters that Lupin had closed an Indian manufacturing plant in western Gujarat after 18 workers at the pharmaceutical plant had a positive COVID-19 test.

The affected factory is one of 11 factories that Lupin operates at his Ankleshwar base. The factory covers 40 acres and employs 984 workers. An official told Reuters that all 18 workers who tested positive were working in a factory, and other workers who had contact with infected employees were being tested for coronavirus. At present, Luping's other pharmaceutical factories have not found new cases of infection.

Some of the world's largest generic and API suppliers in Buddy have been partially or completely closed, including Sun Pharmaceutical, Abbott and Dr. Reddy's.


Closing factories or causing drug shortages
