Revlon's sales fell 39% in 2Q, with a net loss of 884 million
On August 6, the internationally renowned beauty group Revlon Revlon announced the group's second quarter financial report.
The financial report shows that in the second quarter ended June 30, 2020, Revlon's net sales fell 39% to 348 million US dollars; operating loss increased from 9.4 million US dollars in the same period last year to 58.8 million US dollars; net loss from 6370 in the same period last year Ten thousand U.S. dollars expanded to 127 million U.S. dollars; e-commerce net sales rose 58% year-on-year, accounting for 18% of net sales in the second quarter of 2020, much higher than 7% in the same period last year.

Among them, the core Revlon division's net sales fell 46.3% to 135 million U.S. dollars, and its profit decreased from 25.6 million U.S. dollars in the same period last year to 12.3 million U.S. dollars; Elizabeth Arden's sales fell 31% to 80.9 million U.S. dollars, and the profit was 10.8 million. US dollars, compared with 2.7 million US dollars in the same period last year; brand investment department net sales fell 25.4% to 88.5 million US dollars, a decrease of 30.2 million US dollars compared with the same period last year, and profits increased from 6.1 million US dollars in the same period last year to 14.5 million US dollars; perfumes The division’s net sales fell 47.7% to US$43.2 million, and profit was US$7.8 million, compared with US$12.6 million in the same period last year.
According to the financial report, the decline in the net sales of the four major departments is related to the decline in passenger traffic in the retail channel caused by COVID-19. The increase in profits of the Elizabeth Arden department and the brand investment department is related to the higher gross profit of the department. It is related to cost reduction.

From the perspective of different regions, in North America, Revlon’s net sales in the second quarter of 2020 were US$80.1 million, a year-on-year decrease of 40.5%, of which the impact of COVID-19 was approximately US$50 million, partially offset by Revlon brand beauty tools And the impact of rising net sales of hair care products.
